Back in June of 2014 an edition of 200 cassettes of this session sold quickly as we waited for the 12"s to be pressed, and finally! On vinyl for the first time, two of the USA's apostles of music come together for an intense session of banjo and frame-drum shredding, with a touch of tambourine and throat. Collaborations are abundant these days but this one shows extraordinary communication between two very proficient players who are deeply rooted in their rituals and traditions. Hypnotic reverence burns the wax, smells good. Engineered by Emmett Kelly, edition of 500 available with risograph printed artwork by Daniel Higgs.

Absolutely love Fountainsun. Accidentally saw them open for Bonnie Prince Billy in California a couple years ago. Something started to happen after I dismissed the weird folk duo and continued with my beer. Before I could try to disperse my attention elsewhere, Daniel and Fumii had captured, unified, condensed, empowered, unlimited and given it back to me perfectly clean. Of course I've been rapt with attention toward them since that fateful night. Well worth a deep and abiding exploration. Garrett Daun
